    Why This Worksheet Matters

Players often lose games before they even step on the field because they are focused on things they cannot control (rankings, the umpire, their opponent's record). This worksheet forces them to shift their focus back to their own effort, attitude, and preparation—the only things that actually dictate performance.

    When To Use It

    Pre-Game Prep

Hand this out on the bus ride or the night before a big game to help athletes lock in their focus.

    After a Tough Loss

Use it to help a player reset mentally after losing a game they feel they should have won.

    Slump Breaker

If a player is playing tight or afraid to make mistakes, use this to simplify their mindset.

    1-on-1 Meetings

Have them complete it before a 1-on-1 meeting to guide your conversation.

How To Introduce It To Your Team

"Guys, we spend hours taking BP and fielding ground balls, but how much time do we spend training our focus? Today, we are going to identify exactly what is holding you back mentally. If you are worried about the umpire, the crowd, or losing, you are giving away your power. This worksheet is going to help you take that power back by focusing only on what you can control."

    Coach's Notes

"Coach Dee has helped Layla build the confidence she needs to compete at a high level. More importantly, she has learned that she is so much more than just a softball player. The mental game matters. Confidence matters. Believing in yourself matters."
