Many softball players think they have a confidence problem when they compete. More often, they have a focus problem.
In practice, players focus on execution. They work on their swing, pitch mechanics, footwork, communication, and reads. They stay focused on what they trained to do.
During games, many players shift their focus to evaluating. They start thinking about their batting average, the strikeout last inning, what the coach is thinking, or the pressure of a tournament game.
When players focus on evaluating, they become hesitant, tense, and reactive.
The best competitors stay focused on the next pitch. They don't get stuck on the last strikeout, the throwing error, or the slump. They ask:
"How can I win the next pitch?"
This worksheet helps you evaluate your focus, identify distractions, and train your mind to stay locked in on execution — one pitch at a time.
Remember: Stop evaluating. Start executing. Focus on winning the next pitch.
Rate each statement from 1 (Not at all) to 5 (Absolutely).
