Many football players think they have a confidence problem when they compete. More often, they have a focus problem.
In practice, players focus on execution — their assignments, footwork, reads, blocking schemes, pass routes, and defensive technique. They stay focused on doing what they trained to do.
During games, many players shift their focus to evaluating — the penalty they just caused, the play they missed, the score, their playing time, or what the coach is thinking.
When players focus on evaluating, they become hesitant, slow to react, and mentally out of the game.
The best competitors stay focused on the next snap. One play is over. The next play is all that matters. They ask:
"How can I win the next snap?"
This worksheet helps you evaluate your focus, identify distractions, and train your mind to stay locked in on execution — one snap at a time.
Remember: Stop evaluating. Start executing. Focus on winning the next snap.
Rate each statement from 1 (Not at all) to 5 (Absolutely).
Check all that apply. Be honest.
Think of a moment in the game when things went wrong — a penalty, a missed assignment, a turnover. Answer honestly.
Identify three snaps or series where you could have executed your assignment more effectively.

Coach's Challenge
The scoreboard tells you what has already happened.
Champions focus on what happens next.
Don't carry the penalty, the missed assignment, or the bad play into the huddle. Get your head up. Know your assignment. Execute with everything you have on the next snap.
Football is played one snap at a time. The next play is the only play that matters right now.
One snap.
One assignment.
One execution at a time.
Focus on winning the next snap.
